Court Tells Sprint Nextel To Give Up Some Airwaves

A U.S. court rejected Sprint Nextel Corp.'s challenge of a Federal Communications Commission decision that it must give up some wireless airwaves by June 26 to reduce interference with public-safety networks.

Sprint must stop using the frequencies as part of a spectrum swap with about 900 public-safety agencies, regardless of whether all the agencies are ready to give Sprint their airwaves by then, the U.S. Court of Appeals in Washington said today.
