Genworth CEO Has Resigned



RICHMOND, Va., May 1, 2012 /PRNewswire/ --Genworth Financial, Inc. (NYSE:GNW) today announced that Michael D. Fraizer , the company's chairman and chief executive officer, has resigned. The Board has named Martin P. Klein acting chief executive officer and James S. Riepe non-executive chairman of the Board.

Klein has been chief financial officer since May 2011, and he remains in this position. Riepe, a Genworth director since March 2006

Insurance Industry adds Jobs in January 2012



The U.S. insurance industry added 1,100 jobs in January — a mere 0.05% increase from the previous month, according to the latest employment report released by the U.S. Bureau of Labor Statistics.

On a year-to-year basis, the industry, which currently sits at roughly 2.2 million jobs, is about 1,000 jobs ahead of where it stood in January 2011.
